so after months of leaving my vox blog empty, i've officially decided that i don't have time for it. if you'd like to keep reading my inane views on things and stuff, click on over to my real blog.
surprisingly, i actually post there.
ciao, vox!
What is your favorite children's movie?
Yeah, yeah, I know its been a while since i've posted - but you all know why I haven't been able to. So, I thought I'd answer the Qotd today.
My favorite children's movie would have to be Mary Poppins - I can watch that movie 100 times and not get tired of it!
i thought about posting all of the finished cakes here but,
honestly, i'm caked out at the moment. why not check out the
needlework that i finished tonight instead? it's on etsy should you desire a wizardy needlework of your own.
Play any instrument or speak any language, which do you choose?
Question submitted by cruftbox.vox.com.
I think that my choice would be to speak any language, especially if I EVER get to travel the world like I've always wanted to.
What was your favorite candy when you were a kid? How does that compare to now?
Hmm.. I'd have to say that my favorite candy as a kid was Dip Stix - you know, pure colored sugar in little pouches that you ate using a stick made of pure sugar. OMG - that stuff was better than sex lol (or the equivilant, child appropriate thing). I just couldn't get enough! Now, I don't eat candy that often, but when I do, I go straight for chocolate - Reese's Peanut Butter Cups if possible. What can I say, chocolate heals lots of things!
hooray. pictures. it's been slow
work today due to the heat. but i've managed to salvage the one
cake that imploded (well, ok, it didn't really implode.) and it's now the gameboy cake you see above.
the centipede and ms pacman cakes are still in the works.
pictures tomorrow? i really hope that they survive the heat
at the cakewalk!
have i mentioned how i just want to curl up
into fetal position and weep at this point? the chocolate cake
that was going to be part of the trio of cakes fell apart. i had
a feeling that it would. it just wasn't dense enough. i
think i'll be able to salvage it though. (it's now the grey
square on the wax paper that you see on the right in this photo.)
also, it's too hot for the icing. it gets all splooodgy and
floppy and won't work right. so i keep having to put things in
the fridge and/or freezer. and, and, oh hell. i give up for
the night. i'll just have to get up super early when it's cool
ouside and work until about midday.
sometimes i think things would be easier if i would just make plain old layer cakes....
ok, so those of you who know me from flickr and my blogger
blog know that i make video game cakes. people on vox
may not be aware of this odd hobby of mine. so i'll tell you now. hi, my name
is rakka. i make a lot of things based on video games.
anyway, this is the first of four cakes that i'll be donating to 826 seattle's
cakewalk. if you're in seattle this weekend, please stop by the
phinney ridge community center for the festivities. all proceeds go to a great cause!
and now i'm going to take a nap. making cakes wears me out.
